Rapper Soulja Boy is currently facing a felony weapons charge after he was caught by the police carrying a loaded gun in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 22.
Traffic stop caught the rapper
A Los Angeles police officer pulled over a car carrying the 23-year-old hip-hop artist, according to police spokeswoman Rosario Herrera.
The arrest happened in the Granada Hills area of the San Fernando Valley early in the morning, said Herrera.
The rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was taken to jail, although he was freed shortly after paying a $35,000 bond later in the afternoon of the same day.
This is not the first time Soulja Boy had a brush with the law. In October 2011, police officers arrested Way on a Georgia Interstate and was charged with felony weapons and drug charges. According to the authorities, they found a “felony amount” of firearms and marijuana in the SUV he rented.
