Picture of man putting engagement silver ring on woman handBased on surveys, about 2.3 million couples in the US get married every year. That makes 6,200 weddings a day. Based on another survey, about 6 million couples are likely to seal the deal on Valentine’s Day. Tacky or not, the fact is that many couples put a ring on it every year. But how do you know when it’s time to propose or that you’re ready to get hitched? There are a few signs to look out for so you can make plans to buy that engagement ring in Salt Lake City. AAA Jewelers gives us four:

You Enjoy the Small, Mundane Moments

Staying in for Netflix and chill on a Friday night? No brunch plans or hangover remedies on a Saturday morning with your friends? No problem. If the idea of staying in and enjoying the small moments with your partner genuinely makes you excited, that’s one sign you’re you’ve found a great person to be with. No matter how many trips and adventures you’re already planning, most of your days involve normal, everyday activities such as sitting on the couch, doing dishes and standing in line together at the grocery store. If you can stand the idea of doing those things with your current partner for most of the remainder of your lives, that’ll do.

You Finally Learned How to Compromise

It takes a certain level of maturity to make room for other people’s needs and wants over your own. There is no “I” in “team” after all. When you finally learn how to be a team player or, better yet, when you learn how to accommodate the other and not compromise 50/50, that’s another sign that you’re ready to for the next level in your relationship. After all, in marriage, “meeting halfway” sometimes means letting them win.

You Both Know What You Want in Life

People don’t always part ways because they are not compatible with each other or they don’t love each other anymore. Sometimes, they just want different things in life. If you, however, are both aware of what you want in life and it aligns with each other’s, that’s a test you both passed.

Know When to Ask

At some point in your relationship, you will just feel that it’s time to pop the question. You will get some hints from your partner, or you will show the hints yourself. Whichever the case, it’s important to be aware of the signs, especially after hitting a relationship milestone.
